A draft document has been commissioned by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). The proposals aim for consistent calculation of land measurement and associated metrics on a worldwide basis. The document is open for consultation and comment.
At the same time HM Land Registry have issued ‘Guidelines for preparing plans for H M Land Registry Applications’. It is hoped that the two documents end up aligned. It would be even better for farmers and rural business, if Defra’s Rural Land Register could tie in with the same consistency.
